Kamaljeet graduated with a joint honours degree in Biology & Mathematical Studies and further completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education before teaching Maths and Sciences in a secondary school in Kent. She went onto work in the Pharmaceutical sector in sales, marketing & training before taking on a global position responsible for implementing a Learning Curriculum in over 50 countries supporting sales force effectiveness.
For the last 10 years, Kamaljeet has run her own company as a Business Management & Training Consultant across various sectors helping companies to focus on ‘customer-centric’ approaches by developing their staff’s skill-set aligned to their strategic business objectives. She is keen to translate some of the ‘customer-centric’ approaches to healthcare for improved patient experiences and outcomes and subsequently has been involved in various Patient & Public Involvement (PPI) groups.
Kamaljeet has chaired her local Patient Participation Group (PPG) for the last 6 years in Radcliffe-on-Trent, is chair of the Patient Active group (network of 12 PPGs across Rushcliffe Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG)), a member of the Patient Cabinet for Rushcliffe CCG and a member of the PPI Senate for the East Midlands Academic Health & Science Network.
Kamaljeet is married and has lived in Rushcliffe for the last 10 years with joint carer responsibility for her mother. She is passionate about using her experience to ensure ‘patients and the public are at the heart of everything’ and believes in doing the right thing for sustaining the future of the NHS.
