Following a 15 year career in business development, I retrained as a peer support worker in 2015, learning to use my lived experience around mental and physical health and wellbeing to help other people. I took an assignment with The Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Adult Mental Health Directorate, and then, in 2017, became part of the team developing a social prescribing service in Rushcliffe.
In 2019, I joined Partners Health as a Social Prescribing Link Worker, supporting the Central area of Rushcliffe. I am a firm believer in the power of peer support, and the potential for individual and community change delivered via the social prescribing offer.
